Baby is a work that mixes movement and performance through the body in relation to space and the other. In a duet led by two female performers we will build a piece of about 45 minutes in different places and countries. The dualism is the subject that pre-dominates the research of this work. Every artistic process is a personal journey for the choreographer William Cardoso.
The dualism; we have on one side the interior, therefore the thought, the imaginary, our secret garden and its opposite; the matter, the body, our reality as we see it through our eyes. William is interested in this cohabitation which is not always fluid and easy. In this work we will question the limits of the other in order to find a certain balance or not. In the process of research we will work and try to understand the word that dominates the media, films and video games; violence. There will be strong influences also of the order of the image of motherhood.
In this work, we are looking for the deepest honesty. The energy of the interpreters will be the percussion and the rhythm of the work. Through which form will the sound exist? How will it be produced. William wants to create the sound effects himself to complement the piece, but above all he wants to continue to develop and dig into the silence. The absence of noise. The silence is a reference that has always existed in his previous works that the artist wishes to dig into with more intensity.
William seeks to deepen the idea of confronting oneself and the other to expose oneself to the eyes of all. How can we free ourselves and find happiness in this society that prevents us from moving forward and spreading our own wings?
