Cooperative investigates choreography as a technology of being together on stage, questioning the role of artistic authority as the mode of production of a piece. From discussions about productivity, the value of work, the value of labour, and how to make a living, we raise the question of whether it is possible to live within radical modes of sharing which advocate idealized experimentation never experienced by us. What does it mean to make a cooperative performance in a democratic society that does not recognize horizontal collective structures? Would the transformation of economic and social organization also transform our modes of making art and converging as a collective towards a common good? Can performance be a common good?
