Heroas do Mar is a project by As Docinhas that brings together music, performance, and visual arts to rethink punk as an aesthetic, political, and identity-driven force. Rooted in the legacy of Portuguese punk after the Revolution, the work builds bridges to the digital present, exploring new forms of resistance in the face of contemporary alienation. From a queer, non-binary perspective and grounded in the traditions of the Minho region, the project questions identity, memory, and transformation, proposing punk as a living space of reinvention.

As Docinhas is a musical project formed by Cire Ndiaye (voice/violin) and Lee Meneres (voice/guitar). Their sound is an explosive blend of punk, rock, jazz, and electronic music. They released their debut album “XANDO” (2021), followed by the acclaimed “Que Pesadelo!” (2024), named one of the 50 best Portuguese albums by BLITZ. Their live performances are visceral and innovative, described as “hyperpop Roxy Music” and a “Portuguese queer parallel to Fat White Family.” They have performed at Festival Zigurfest, Festival Tremor, Musicbox Lisboa, and Fundação Serralves, among others.
