A lesbian enters a bar. This woman is not named lesbian, as you can imagine. This woman ⎯ being a woman or not is also a question. Anyway, we'll get there. She enters a bar, lesbian. She wants to kiss who's there, but she doesn't like to be there, that is, she doesn't like ghettos, that is, she doesn't believe in labels. Once she had a severe alergic reaction to canned food, because she didn't believe in labels. Anyway, we'll get there. She begins a conversation with a nice dyke. With no common sense, she asks why do we need all these questions? She likes women, period. Anyway, we'll get there.
Starting from the quote If you're not a lesbian, what is your name? (originally from an article published in the 1st edition of the lesbian magazine Lilás, in 1993), this show investigates about all these ill-reputed words that have been around for some time, used to describe certain people, communities and practices. Lesbians or not, we are all some thing ⎯ many things, even. We are either proud or ashamed of them, while others we don't think a lot about them. The show will feature a journey through various landmarks of lesbian literature – fictional and theoretical – to trace a story. A story of people? Words? Practices? Are there species Are there species on the verge of extinction amid all this? If we don't know the history of our country, how can we be of our nationality? What if we don't know the history of our lesbians?
