O Estado do Tempo is an initiative organized by O Espaço do Tempo that began in 2024 and comprises a series of talks and the publishing of a collection of zines on various topics of our time.

In each talk, there will be a general theme that will be discussed by the people invited, as well as the participation of the present audience. Each of these talks, which will happen in different locations in Montemor-o-Novo, will result in a publication that will bring together photographic records, transcriptions, texts, and original graphic creations.

In 2025, we return with another talk of O Estado do Tempo on March 15, around 4pm, at Cooperativa Caminhos do Futuro, where we will discuss the theme: Trabalhar! Trabalhar? Trabalhar.

Bruno Borges. Lisbon, 1976. Painter, juggling teacher, and comic book artist. A founding member of the satirical pro-lyric pamphlet Buraco and an integral part of Oficina Arara, he is the mentor and main figure behind the publishing label O Gorila – produções trogloditas. Between independent publications and sporadic exhibitions in various collective projects, he also breeds rabbits in the parish of Paranhos.

Laura Galhano holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Lausanne and has conducted research on work, periods without work, and the moral and cultural categorizations that shape the (re)production of social order. She worked on a project at the University of Porto analyzing labor conditions and workforce flows in the European construction industry. She has collaborated with the collective Plataforma285, consistently exploring themes of work and the time that surrounds it. Through the project Afinidades, they investigated labor and leisure practices in a changing territory.
