O Espaço do Tempo, in co-production with MARCA ADL, begin 2024 with a proposal for a meeting between artistic and cultural organizations that will happen on February 1st and 2nd, in Montemor-o-Novo.
The climate crisis we live in has imposed changes in processes and operations in various sectors of activity, such as the cultural sector. There is a clear need to review resource management practices, to drastically reduce the carbon footprint, and to contribute to the creation of more sustainable environmental economies in our lives and in our work. Thus, we want to invite organizations from the artistic and cultural sector to jointly reflect on this topic.
What good examples are there and how can we learn from them, sharing ideas and strategies and collectively building a more sustainable future? What is the role of the cultural sector and artistic production at this time of energy transition? How can we transform our processes and practices, contributing to a less harmful artistic and cultural activity to the environment? What good examples are there and how can we learn from them, sharing ideas and strategies and collectively building a more sustainable future?
These are some of the questions that we raise in this initiative and to which we invite all agents and structures interested in participating on environmental sustainability practices in artistic and cultural organizations.
+ With Islene Façanha - ZERO - Associação Sistema Terrestre Sustentável; Mariana Machado and André Costa Santos - Associação Sciaena; Alice Bonnot, founder of VILLA VILLA and environmental sustainability specialist at Julie's Bicycle; and Vânia Rodrigues and Fernando Matos Oliveira of CEIS20. Moderation by Pedro Miguel Santos.
