violetas is an intimate dance piece where one exists and resists in a minimalist environment. The dancing body is proposed as unique and sufficient. What do we project and what do we assume as we allow ourselves to be carried away? violetas plays with expectation and perception. The space it inhabits becomes a reflection on itself, where the fluidity, complexity, and subjectivity of each of the five performers invites reflection on performativity, boundaries, centers, and the spaces in between.
