Em Busca das Madrinhas de Guerra is the creation project for a show, written and directed by Keli Freitas, that works around the idea of the war godmothers (madrinhas de guerra) ⎯ women that wrote letters to console the soldiers during the so-called Portuguese Colonial War.

Keli Freitas (1983, Brazil) is a dramaturgist, creator and actress. Bachelor of Arts from the Pontifical University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC – Rio) and Master's student in Portuguese Studies from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Among her creations are “Osmarina Pernambuco não consegue esquecer” (2019), “Adicionar um lugar ausente” (2020), “fábrica de matar baleia” (PANOS, 2022) and “Outra Língua” (2022). Dramaturgist of “BAqUE”, together with Gaya de Medeiros (2022). Dramaturgist of “Es tr3s irms”, together with Tita Maravilha (2023). A collector of correspondence from anonymous people, she dedicates herself to developing authorial works based on so-called ordinary writings.
