Kate McIntosh (1974) is an artist who practices across the boundaries of installation and performance. Her works often focus on the physicality of both performer and public, the manipulation of objects and materials, and the development of direct relations between spectators. McIntosh has ongoing fascinations with the sensory, transformation, collectivity, animal-human connections, destruction, mess, humour, care. She will be in a writing residency at O Espaço do Tempo from October 7 to 11 to explore new research processes for her upcoming creation.

Originally from Aotearoa New Zealand and trained in dance - since 2004 McIntosh developed an internationally recognized body of stage and trans-disciplinary work which tours extensively in Europe as well as to Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. Kate is also a co-director and founding member of SPIN - an artist-initiated production and research platform in Brussels, which also organizes public gatherings for knowledge exchange.
