Fera is a research-driven dance project that investigates how physical differences shape movement identity and fuel creativity. The work is inspired by Jean-Baptiste’s left hand, a part of his body with unique physical characteristics that have profoundly influenced his artistic journey. Initially viewed as a limitation in a normative context, this difference became a catalyst for transformation, prompting him to adapt, rethink movement, and embrace it as a vital part of his creative identity.
The project metaphorically links this personal evolution to nature’s raw, untamed essence, using "wildness" as a concept to explore the primal instinct to adapt, survive, and transcend. Through Fera, the tension between constraint and liberation is examined, reflecting on how embracing physical differences can lead to strength, artistry, and new modes of expression.
