Through the Chiral Veil is an interactive installation piece through which one navigates various landscapes and communes with the presence of other bodies. Bodies that sometimes inhabit the latent digital memory in the space, and at other times manifest through the physical presence of other beings visiting the room.
Through a sculptural installation with touch-reactive objects and a Virtual Reality component, the piece challenges the boundaries between the physical and the digital, exploring interaction language as a means to convey presences, gestures, and traces left by other bodies. The landscapes that unfold express the emotional and poetic territories inscribed by each artist involved in the project. The audience is invited to traverse them both through direct interaction with the installation in the physical space and through the use of Virtual Reality (VR) goggles, which allow access to an expansion and reconfiguration of the space, as if crossing “to the other side of the veil”. Actions performed in one plane manifest in the other, establishing real-time communication between the bodies inhabiting the physical space and those navigating the virtual universe. The artists propose that each visiting body undertake its own passage, feeling the body and landscape as a single entity and letting their actions reverberate freely and continuously through space-time.
