the liminal body is a body condemned to adapt itself; the migrant body, to never truly settle. the body's DNA is a capsule of geomancy, containing within itself every possible story. such a body's navigation through genealogical maps is a failed attempt to systematize the ungraspable: books of sand made of erased memories, dissolving as they accumulate. as a [catalogue], this piece proposes an anamorphic collection of samples of every [format] of the works of the book of sand umbrella project. in case of interest, you may commission the complete work by emailing: booking@alinasokulska.com

Ukrainian with Syrian roots, Kyiv-born, Barcelona-based, alina works through choreography, performance, and crafts. Also a PhD in Comparative Literature, alina positions her art in hybrid spaces where theory and practice operate as complementary modes of knowledge production. Her movement research spins around the performativity of the liminal, exploring themes such as identity, memory, power dynamics, and their relation to the current epistemic framework.
