To what extent does daily life allow us to see and hear a landscape? Will we have the time to take in its entirety? Can a performance recover that space for contemplation and leisure?
Paisagens Inúteis (Useless Landscapes) is a bilingual show (Portuguese and Portuguese Sign Language) that dares to consider all abilities as a pretext for accessing and engaging with the landscape. It aspires to be accessible and falls short, proud of its attempt. It is a real and metaphorical journey toward the horizon. It is an odyssey: useless and purposelessly so. Until then, many are the stops along the way — or will they be landscapes?
