O Estado do Tempo is an initiative organized by O Espaço do Tempo that began in 2024 and comprises a series of talks and the publishing of a collection of zines on various topics of our time.

In each talk, there will be a general theme that will be discussed by the people invited, as well as the participation of the present audience. Each of these talks, which will happen in different locations in Montemor-o-Novo, will result in a publication that will bring together photographic records, transcriptions, texts, and original graphic creations.

The next talk of O Estado do Tempo will be on March 28, around 4pm, at Biblioteca Municipal Almeida Faria, where we will discuss the theme Internet: Das Utopias Libertárias às Distopias Algorítmicas (The Internet: From Libertarian Utopias to Algorithmic Dystopias).

The guests are the following:

  • • Alexander Gerner (philosopher of technology and media arts, CICANT, Universidade Lusófona / FilmEU – European University);
  • • Alexandre Castro (Software developer and board member at Cooperativa Minga);
  • • Maria Fera (Performer and Performing Arts student).
