The choir of São Domingos from Montemor-o-Novo returns to O Espaço do Tempo for another concert that usually takes place in the Kings' Day, January 6th. This concert continues a many years tradition between both structures. Pieces from various latitudes will be executed in a gesture that welcomes the new year, believing in the power of art and the change it can bring about in all of us.

This year, O Espaço do Tempo will open the doors of Magina from 7:30 pm for a convivial gathering with a ground fire and some light refreshments before the concert. Everyone is welcome.

The choir of São Domingos was established in 1987, in Montemor-o-Novo, by João Luís Nabo. They participated in many tours through Beligum (1992); Italy (1993); Spain (1993, 1994, 1996, 1998 1999, 2000 and 2005); France (1996 and 2004); Bulgaria (1998); Madeira (1999); Poland (2000); Sweden (2001). In 1995, they participated in the “31ères Rencontres Chorales Internationales de Montreux”, Switzerland, one of the most prestigious and applauded music competitions for choirs, at an European and worldwide level. They joined many television and radio shows, such as Portuguese channel RTP and International RDP (1992). They have also participated in dozens of choir and festival meetings in Portugal.

From their extensive repertoire there are popular and erudite pieces included, of sacred and profane origin, both national and foreign, from the most diverse eras and schools. The singers have given their body and voice to this choir and they are all based in Montemor-o-Novo. Despite being from the most diverse professions, they all continue to find in this group a personal and collective fulfillment and belonging.
