O Espaço do Tempo, with the support of Fundação "la Caixa" and in collaboration with Banco BPI, is opening applications for the 7th edition of the Creation Grants in contemporary performing arts. Among the most substantial artistic creation grants in Portugal, the Creation Grants have played a decisive role in the development and presentation of 30 original projects over the past six editions, thus mapping the current performing arts landscape. With a total budget of €100,000, four grants of €25,000 each will be awarded.

The four creations supported through these grants will premiere at O Espaço do Tempo in November 2027, as part of #ETFEST (12 and 13 November or 26 and 27 November), following a two-week final residency at the venue where they will be presented. The grant therefore includes both the world premiere and a second presentation.

The jury for this 7th edition is composed of Cláudia Galhós (curator of BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts 2027 and performing arts specialist), Elisabetta Bisaro (artistic programmer and incoming Artistic Director of O Espaço do Tempo), Gaya de Medeiros (choreographer and founder of BRABA.Plataforma), Rui Torrinha (cultural manager and artistic programmer), and Sónia Fernandez Lage (Artistic Director of Graner – Centre de Creació de Dansa i Arts Vives, Barcelona).

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on 2 November 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. The call is open to national and international artists residing in Portugal, applying individually or collectively, who have completed at least two works by the opening date of the call and whose first work dates no earlier than 1 January 2019.

Applicants will be notified of the results by email, and the results will be publicly announced through O Espaço do Tempo’s communication channels on 27 November 2026.
