Can a landscape only be seen with the eyes?
Can it only be inhabited with the body?

What is a step?
What is a passage?

How can we communicate with one another without words?
And transform the world without leaving a room?

This workshop stems from the creative process of Paisagens Inúteis*, a performance by Vanda R. Rodrigues / Antípoda, which sought to consider everyone as audience. Throughout that research, different people were encountered, along with diverse ways of communicating, perceiving space, listening, and building narrative and presence. Exercises were retained that relate to landscape, body, voice, silence, physical and vocal construction, attention, and listening. Simple yet demanding exercises. Exercises where communication does not depend on words and where difference is not an obstacle, but material. At its core, it is a path into forms of expression that do not begin from the norm, but from coexistence.

This activity is designed for people with and without disabilities, blind people, D/deaf people, people on the spectrum, or with any neurological or functional divergence.

Poda ⎯ Practices and Observations on Accessibility Didactics emerged within the Sintropia cycle as a space for questioning: how can we create and programme while considering, from the outset, people with disabilities, D/deaf people, blind and low-vision people, and other divergences as part of the audience and the process, rather than as exceptions to be adapted later? Over three years, the project involved research, artistic residencies, and continuous engagement with schools and associations. Training initiatives were developed with artists and organisations working from disability perspectives. Concrete devices were tested within artistic creation, gradually transforming doubt into practice. What began as research became method, relationship, and shared responsibility, culminating today in the effective implementation of these practices within Antípoda’s programming.
