O Estado do Tempo is an initiative by O Espaço do Tempo that involves a series of discussions and the publication of a collection of zines on various contemporary issues.
Each discussion features a different topic with invited guests, and public participation is also encouraged. Each of these discussions, held in various locations around Montemor-o-Novo, results in a publication that includes photographic records, transcripts, texts, and original graphic creations.
In 2025, O Estado do Tempo has the co-production of Cineteatro Curvo Semedo.
#1 Propriedade Privada e Direito à Habitação (Private Property and the Right to Housing)
The first talk of O Estado do Tempo took place on April 6th, 2024, in the village of Casa Branca, Montemor-o-Novo, focusing on Private Property and the Right to Housing. This event was held in partnership with Estação Cooperativa de Casa Branca and was moderated by Inês Barbosa (researcher and activist for housing rights). The panel included:

#2 Jornalismo: Liberdade e Independência (Journalism: Freedom and Independence)
The second talk took place on June 29th, 2024, at Biblioteca Almeida Faria, addressing Journalism: Freedom and Independence, in collaboration with the Municipality of Montemor-o-Novo. Moderated by Bernardo Mendonça (journalist and host of the podcast A Beleza das Pequenas Coisas), the panel featured:

#3 Modos de Acção e Intersecções no Activismo Ambiental (Methods of Action and Intersections in Environmental Activism)
On September 7th, 2024, the topic Methods of Action and Intersections in Environmental Activism was discussed in partnership with Oficinas do Convento. Moderated by Sandra Coelho (sociologist and journalist at Mapa newspaper), the panel included:

#4 Educação: Antes, Durante e Além da Escola
The last talk of O Estado do Tempo in 2024 was in partnership with Cooperativa Integral Minga, on November 23rd, focused on Educating: Before, During and Beyond School. Moderated by Inês Barbosa, researcher and activist), the panel included:

- • Maria Sequeira Mendes (Professor at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa and co-author of the book O Desensino da Arte - Projeto de uma Escola Ideal);

- • Virgínia Fróis (Founder of Oficina da Criança and Oficinas Do Convento and associate professor at Universidade de Belas Artes de Lisboa);
#5 Trabalhar! Trabalhar? Trabalhar. (Work! Work? Work.)
In 2025, O Estado do Tempo continued with another edition at Cooperativa Caminhos do Futuro, to discuss the theme Trabalhar! Trabalhar? Trabalhar (Work! Work? Work.). The conversation took place on March 15th and featured the following guest speakers:

#6 Participação Política, Conflitos e Democracia (Political Participation, Conflicts and Democracy)
On 4 October, O Estado do Tempo was held at the Youth Centre of Montemor-o-Novo, where the discussion focused on Participação Política, Conflitos e Democracia (Political Participation, Conflicts and Democracy). The following guests were invited to take part:

#7 Comida: Produção, Acessibilidade e Consumo (Food: Production, Acessibility and Consumption)
On December 13, 2025, the seventh talk of O Estado do Tempo took place at Magina of O Espaço do Tempo, focusing on Food: Production, Accessibility and Consumption. The following guests took part in this conversation:

- • Berta Valente (Nutritionist and Researcher at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto);
- • José João Rodrigues (Sociocultural Animator, activist and facilitator of the Casa do Sal project).
#8 Internet: das Utopias Libertárias às Distopias Algorítmicas (Internet: from Libertarian Utopias to Algorithmic Dystopias)
We resumed O Estado do Tempo in 2026 with the 8th talk in this project, on March 28, focusing on Internet: das Utopias Libertárias às Distopias Algorítmicas. This session, which took place at the Biblitoeca Municipal Almeida Faria, featured the following invited guests:
