o espaço do tempo - event<br/> <font color=#666666>Ted Stoffer & Sayaka Kaiwa ( EUA/Japan ) </font> <br/> <font color=#990000><b >08 may 2010 </b ></font><font color=#666666>9.30 pm, Blackbox | Montemor-o-Novo<br/> </font><br/><img class='left' style='margin:10px 0 0 0;' border=0 style='margin-left:0px' src='http://www.oespacodotempo.pt/images/imagethumb.php?s=../images/web/eventos/spreken.jpg&w=250'><br/><br/>Rencontres des Imbeciles, is a chronicle of events which questions the concept of identify.Cultural theorist and Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Open University in Birmingham, Stuart Hall stated; "The use of: cultural, political, statistical, social, personal, and digital identities changes with understanding of context. The notion of an integral, originally and unified concept of identity is under discursive explosion. Identity is such a concept - operating "under erasure" in the interval between reversal and emergence; an idea which cannot be thought in the old way, but without which certain key questions cannot be thought of at all."Inspired by these words we began to question how we deïfine ourselves and our comprehension of the barometers to which we measure our beliefs. If the concept of identity is under erasure, what else may be? Questions surrounding possessions, power, fear and love immediately surfaced. Do we possess power/fear/love or are we possessed by them? How can we physically confront such issues?Rencontres des Imbeciles is the result of these questions.Ted StofferTed Stoffer was born in the U.S. and has been working in Europe since 1991. He has danced for Les Ballets C de la B, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Rambert Dance Co., Scapino Ballet and various independent choreographers. He started Aphasia Dance Company in 1997 and has choreographed five full length productions including: an audience interactive installation and in 2008, Aphasiadisiac produced by Les Ballets C de la B. He has has acted as movement adviser to Koen Augustijnen of Les Ballets C de la B and Cie. Michele Anne De Mey.Sayaka Kaiwa was born in Japan and began her dance studies at Hampshire College in the USA. Most recently, she toured her solo "traces of sigh" in Europe with P.A.R.T.S.

Nevertheless some men have learned to master the power of storms.“The Tears of Saladin” is about ethics and compassion in our daily effort to reinvent communication, and by no means a politically correct piece about multiculturalism. To produce each of these fictions, the information is collected directly from the reality of the 3 participants in their cities (images, dialogues and sound environments). Then, these elements will be subjected to a free association process of the real contexts in which they're produced. It is intended that the "realistic" factor of these contexts turns into something purely fictional through its combination.

The piano accompanist was in the back of the room, with her back to the audience she began to play every time a new student arrived in the room. When it was time for advanced students to play then the music scores became longer and one student was placed next to the accompanist to turn the music scores pages .I was completely mesmerized by this ritual that seemed so sweet, quiet and poetic, that was mixing music, memory, action, suspended time, the balance between pause and action within a minimalist set design made of white plastic chairs .The premises for a new creation that I wanted to find in this Conservatory, where I spent my teenage years, suddenly appeared.Tiago Guedes

o espaço do tempo - community<br/> <font color=#666666>Nuno Coelho ( Portugal ) </font> <br/> <font color=#990000><b > 22 february to 08 march 2010</b ></font><font color=#666666>Escola EB 2 3 Sao Joao de Deus, Montemor-O-Novo<br/> </font><br/><img class='left' style='margin:10px 0 0 0;' border=0 style='margin-left:0px' src='http://www.oespacodotempo.pt/images/imagethumb.php?s=../images/web/eventos/ncol.jpg&w=250'><br/><br/>In this exhibition, "A Land Without People for a People Without Land", Portuguese graphic designer Nuno Coelho produces a visual discourse around the social tensions of daily life in this region where three continents collide, and proposes a new approach to exploring the Arab-Israeli conflict. This discourse is critical, but it is also ironic, and playfully exposes the absurdity in the current situation. The exhibition is comprised of large format posters, each with a black and white outline illustration, which visitors are invited to colour using the coloured pencils provided. Once again, Nuno Coelho is exploring the familiar concepts of his work such as the use of vernacular cultural reference and viewer interaction through print media. The posters display various maps and graphics, and also include material directly taken from photographs collected by the artist during a month long trip to Palestine in 2006, during which he had the opportunity to explore and research the complex situation in the region. The absurdity in the current sociopolitical situation is emphasized by the appropriation of infantile language and iconography. The work demonstrates the opinion of the artist that although there is a global discourse surrounding Palestine, few people can reach beyond shock images and headlines engineered by the Media and understand the basic principles of the conflict. The work also invites us to question whether it is possible for an artwork to have immense political focus without becoming one-sided, or attempting to be transgressive, subversive or an act of political activism. Arguably, denying philosophy is in itself a philosophical act, and so perhaps even attempting to create artwork that avoids dealing directly with politics is intrinsically to take a definite political position.Nuno Coelho is a communication Designer, who lives and works in Porto, Portugal. "A Land Without People for a People Without Land" is the first individual exhibition by the artist with work created specifically for the purpose.

And the houses will fly as well as the trees and the bodies of the uncareful. Our dreams will also fly into pieces as well as the doors that will leave our barns empty. After that, the calm will return and the only sound to be heard will be the dance of the flies. It will be hard to understand why so many things that we loved have disappeared without a trace. When the randomness from the tempest becomes controlled by men, there are storms that eclipse everything from the surface of the Earth, even the most resilient plants. Nevertheless some men have learned to master the power of storms.“Saladin entered Jerusalem on a Friday, the 2nd October 1187 (the 27th Rajab of the year 583 of Hegira), in the very same day that the Muslims celebrate the nocturnal journey of the Prophet to Jerusalem. He entered Jerusalem, and ninety one years after a bloody occupation by the Christian crusaders, he gives order to his emirs and soldiers to spare the population and the fighters, avoid the pillage and the massacre, guarding the sacred places and announcing that everyone can pray there whenever they wish to. He, himself, went from sanctuary to sanctuary, crying, praying and prostrating himself, in an act of compassion without precedents in history of humanity.”Amin Maalouf “The Tears of Saladin” is about ethics and compassion in our daily effort to reinvent communication, and by no means a politically correct piece about multiculturalism. Mankind only makes sense if it remains wild and untamed. Tour 2010-2011March 13th 2010, Centro Cultural Vila flor, Guimarães - Portugal March 20th 2010, Teatro Virginia, Torres Novas - Portugal September 25th 2010, Tempo - Teatro Municipal de Portimão, Portimão - Portugal February 5th and 6th 2011, Teatro Nacional de São João - Porto, Portugal

Carries us to an hybrid voyage where sound has visibility and images have noise. Electronic and acoustic music melt together through the use of tools such as sound capture, samplers and analogical modelling, rendering an organic composition where image is used as a visual and sonorous instrument On a lightning table, several materials (machinery, scrap, inks, and others) are exhibited and dissected under a glass, as if they were part of a rarity museum collection. They are also visualized in metamorphosis on a double projection. The voice from the mechanisms seems to emerge of timeless places to then dissolve in the air, where the enchanted and the real find the elective affinities. In laboratory environment, the rhythm of the composition is imposed by a sound that can be either electrifying or simple and devoid. The three performers are accomplices in a relationship of continuity and discontinuity, in order to make room for the image to becamebecome a sculpture element of sound and the sound an image composition.Canal Zero - Open Studio -Espaço do TempoEnviado por canalzero. - Ver mais videos criativos

Elusive potential evils become unseen opponents in a battle of truth versus fiction where it is no longer possible to distinguish one from the other. The internet begins to reveal a world of mystery delineated by chatter and cryptic messages. With its new project "The parallax view" COCOONDANCE turns the obvious rhetoric of 9/11 hysteria around to focus on the conspiratorial act as a strategy, creative and poetic collaboration.Citing different genres like film, concert, literature, and internet, COCOONDANCE tries to differentiate the narrative form of dance, playing with different narrative strategies, transformations and forms of staging.COCOONDANCE was founded by choreographer Rafaële Giovanola and dramaturge Rainald Endraß on the occasion of an invitation to the Festival-Off Avignon in 2000. Swiss-born Giovanola was a soloist in Turin before being brought to the Frankfurt Ballett by William Forsythe for the duration of eight years. After this, she worked with Pavel Mikuláštik's Choreographical Theatre, with Bonn as the last station. Since 2004, COCOONDANCE plays at and is also the artistic direction for dance at the Bonn theaterimballsaal, "with admirable professionalism and to international acclaim."
o espaço do tempo - residence<br/> <font color=#666666>Rafaele Giovanola & Rainald Endrass | Cocoondance ( Germany ) </font> <br/> <font color=#990000><b > 01 to 14 april 2010</b ></font><font color=#666666>Convento da Saudacao | Montemor-o-Novo<br/> </font><br/><img class='left' style='margin:10px 0 0 0;' border=0 style='margin-left:0px' src='http://www.oespacodotempo.pt/images/imagethumb.php?s=../images/web/eventos/cocoon.jpg&w=250'><br/><br/>At a time of heightened alert in which we are increasingly asked to exchange our basic freedoms for a stronger sense of personal security, conspiracy and speculation become the cultural genres of the digital age. Since 2004, COCOONDANCE plays at and is also the artistic direction for dance at the Bonn theaterimballsaal, "with admirable professionalism and to international acclaim." The notion of an integral, originally and unified concept of identity is under discursive explosion.

It works also as a preparation for the contemporaneous dance classes or as a complementary class to any sport. Tai Chi - an internal martial artby Susana Marques (Portugal) Besides their martial function, the internal arts are also effective to fight stress and to keep healthy. At a more advanced level, they are a way of development of conscience. Tai-chi practice is characterized by slow and sequential movements, which encourage physical and psychical relaxing and the circulation of energy (chi). Tai-chi can be practised at any age, with clear benefits for health and general well-being.

At Rendez-vous the cliché will be buried in order to talk about epiphanies: how do we reach the person or the things we encounter. The point of departure is the accomplished act, the step taken. Then we will retrogress and look behind, to the path we chose to walk. In this symbolic retrogression, also a physical one, there will be bodies in confrontment, images colliding, words in contradiction. The springboard of encounter is the difference between everything: men communicating, the place they share, the time they challenge. Identity and resemblance will get lost on the way.Victor Hugo PontesLOOPING | EU Project In October 2008, LOOPING, a partnership Uzès Danse (France), TanzWerkstatt Berlin (Germany) and O Espaço do Tempo (Portugal) was granted by the European Commission within the framework of ithe Culture 2007-2013 Program.LOOPING is a two-year cooperation project whose aim is to support new creations by twelve emerging choreographers, from six different countries: France, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Romania and Turkey,. The partner organizations support the artists throughout their creative processes, from their research until the production of their works, as well as on its diffusion. Technical, financial and administrative resources are provided to the selected choreographers to enable them to create a short, 30-minute work. Cycles of residences are organized in each of the six partner countries, to enable the artists to work on their creations, with support and feedback from dramaturgs and theoriticians who bring their opinion to bear on the work, providing an objective gaze, criticism and feedback. At the same time, young production managers are invited to join the projects, ensuring its management. In 2010, six new creations by six emerging artists will be performed during the seasons and festivals organized by the three partner organizations.

That's how the Laboratórios Audiência Zero (Audiencia Zero Labs) project started, and in just two years it has grown from one to three spaces nationwide, Altlab in Lisbon, LCD in Porto and xDA in Coimbra.Nowadays these spaces serve as a regular meeting point for a new generation of creators, whether artists or not, connected across a countrywide network, without fear to tackle any technology and knowledge needed to bring their ideas to completion in an environment of open sharing and experimentation. This exhibition presents the results of a unique experiment. For 17 days, 30 members of the Audiencia Zero Labs for all over the country and also from abroad lived and worked together on collective projects. New teams were formed, infinite ideas proposed, new tools and technologies were experimented with, incredible adventures were lived and new friends were made. The projects we can find at this exhibit are just the tip of the veil, the true impact of this experience is yet to come.

I AM not this body, I HAVE this body. What I really am is an entity of experiences, wishes, reminiscences and all the possible aspects that create my identity. And this entity is timeless. So what would it happen if I would take the storyboard of my life, including the mental projection of a possible future, and change its chronological order? No yesterday, no tomorrow but only a process that gathers present, timeless moments.Would that help to switch off the "radio of thoughts" that goes constantly on into my mind and live not IN what it was, not IN what it will be, but only IN what it's now?Teresa Ranieri

o espaço do tempo - residence<br/> <font color=#666666>Annabelle Bonnery and Francois Deneulin ( France ) </font> <br/> <font color=#990000><b > 24 to 30 june 2010</b ></font><font color=#666666>Montemor-o-Novo | Convento da Saudacao<br/> </font><br/><img class='left' style='margin:10px 0 0 0;' border=0 style='margin-left:0px' src='http://www.oespacodotempo.pt/images/imagethumb.php?s=../images/web/eventos/annabelle1.jpg&w=250'><br/><br/>"Corps déployés ou l'éventualité improbable", springs from the common desire of a choreographer and a composer to create a close connection between their respective disciplines since the very beginning of the writing process.Contrary to the traditional work pattern, where music pre-exists, or in which music is "written" based on a pre-defined choreography, this writing work is a process of constant dialogue between each medium, allowing a free hand for mutual influence and bridging of various sound and choreographic material, although without preventing each discipline to tend to its own unfolding. At the heart of this work, two elements allow to bring these disciplines together; on the one hand, the movements of the dancers and musicians are tracked via sensors, thus enabling the possibility to manage or transform sound elements and on the other hand, sound residuals peculiar to danced bodies (scrapings, smackings, breathings) are recorded by microphones, allowing to create a world of sound through amplification. Therefore, this unusual stage system forms a network providing greatly increased possibilities where all the different continuous data (movements or sounds) are processed and connected by a computer. However, far from being a source of technological inspiration, computing is still one of the ways to allow movements and sounds to act in close interaction with each other; it is an invisible framework, a custom lute-making for the performance enabling to intensify the relationship between existing inter-media, or to create unprecedented ones, although this technical process should remain unnoticed. The reason is that, above all, this quintet - three dancers, a drummer and an accordionist - questions the relationship and exchange between them. When one unfolds, how does he get in contact with the other, does he stop the other one to disclose himself or do they both contribute to a relation of domination that is accepted or self-inflicted?The unfolding of a human being weakens him because he is open and exposed at the same time. Exchange would take place during this moment of frailty facing the other, this unlikely quest to be fully understood by others. This piece attempts to question otherness through a desire to «live together».The very creative process - co-authorship between the choreographer and the composer- sheds lights on such issues as otherness, attempted exchanges and contacts by what it offers to see and live between the 5 performers. The imaginative world of each one of them scrapes and clashes together, taking the shape of a common language, full of these individualities and distorted by them. One wonders about the notions of unison, group and mass. The situations explored make music and dance overlap via the interplay between the dancer's movements and the music played live. This close relationship between body and music writings gives way to an unusual reading of the movement and urges us to reassess our codes. This quest for exchange wavers between listening and speaking, assertion and a will to understand, creating a dance piece composed of momentum, which is restrained or suspended by heightened enthusiasm.Annabelle Bonnéry and Sébastian Rivas

To be examined will be the adaptation in modern working environments as a survival strategy. In the centre of research are gestures and movements that make adaptation possible. Assumed that people use a strategy of physical mimicry consciously, it would be interesting to see what happened if this strategy was decontextualised. In the centre of the piece, that combines elements of dance, theatre and film, is, besides the performers on stage, the work of media artist Angela Melitopoulos. The movements, pictures and texts of Mimikry are going to be created during the rehearsing process. They are going to be combined to a stage performance, video projection and soundscape.Content: In working and private life communities are build that have their own codes of belongingness and identification. We life in a time of community building, although individualism plays an important role in media, advertising and politics. We are planning to search, besides the gestures of adaptation, for gestures of social dislocation, for moments of doubt and insecurity, that mean an interruption. In this context we see moments of fragility as an act of creation in daily life.

Each one of these new works will have as a starting point an art work that have influenced these young theater makers. These projects are co-produced by Mundo Perfeito, O Espaço do Tempo and Galeria Zé dos Bois. Mundo Perfeito means: "perfect world". This company is based on a kitchen in a small apartment in Amadora, a city in the suburbs of Lisbon. The company's name translates the irony of a critic way of regarding the present and the idealism of an optimistic behaviour towards the future. It is also a name that makes people smile, for whatever reason.Organized around the artistic work of Tiago Rodrigues, this structure is also directed by Magda Bizarro and has produced 10 performances since 2003. Mundo Perfeito is recognised by the quality of its work and a permanent drive towards innovation. They stand out for an intense work with authors and new dramaturgy, and also for their spirit of collaboration with international artists such as the belgian company tg STAN, the light and set designer Thomas Walgrave, the lebanese artists Rabih Mroué and Tony Chakar, the congolese choreographer Faustin Linyekula or Pavol Liska and Kelly Copper, from the american company Nature Theatre of Oklahoma.Mundo Perfeito has presented its work in theatres and festivals in countries such as France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Lebanon and Brazil.

They weigh around 2.7 grams, and are 40 mm in diameter. They can take distance, by rolling along the floor, by flying in a curve-like movement or by leaping through the space. Once dropped from 30 cm they only rise up 23 cm. On each bounce the height decreases according to this coefficient, until they cannot rise off the floor anymore. However, the specificities of the bounce depend largely on the ground surface. On the right dance floor they produce a hollow staccato sound on each touch. They are highly dependent on the strength of the initiating force that gives them the strength to fight friction. Eventually, due to the friction between them, the ground and the air, they come to a stop. Once they are in groups they behave unpredictably, and, sometimes, they deviate from their original trajectory."Ballroom" is a continuation of a kinetic and dramaturgic study of Ping Pong balls. Ping Pong I was premiered in K3- Center for Choreography in December 2009.Begüm ErciyasLOOPING | EU Project In October 2008, LOOPING, a partnership Uzès Danse (France), TanzWerkstatt Berlin (Germany) and O Espaço do Tempo (Portugal) was granted by the European Commission within the framework of ithe Culture 2007-2013 Program.LOOPING is a two-year cooperation project whose aim is to support new creations by twelve emerging choreographers, from six different countries: France, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Romania and Turkey,. In 2010, six new creations by six emerging artists will be performed during the seasons and festivals organized by the three partner organizations.

o espaço do tempo - residence<br/> <font color=#666666>Annabelle Bonnery and Francois Deneulin ( France ) </font> <br/> <font color=#990000><b > 01 to 11 july 2010</b ></font><font color=#666666>Blackbox | Montemor-o-Novo<br/> </font><br/><img class='left' style='margin:10px 0 0 0;' border=0 style='margin-left:0px' src='http://www.oespacodotempo.pt/images/imagethumb.php?s=../images/web/eventos/annabelle1.jpg&w=250'><br/><br/>"Unfolded bodies or the unlikely possibility", springs from the common desire of a choreographer and a composer to create a close connection between their respective disciplines since the very beginning of the writing process.Contrary to the traditional work pattern, where music pre-exists, or in which music is "written" based on a pre-defined choreography, this writing work is a process of constant dialogue between each medium, allowing a free hand for mutual influence and bridging of various sound and choreographic material, although without preventing each discipline to tend to its own unfolding.

It works also as a preparation for the contemporaneous dance classes or as a complementary class to any sport. Tai Chi – an internal martial artBesides their martial function, the internal arts are also effective to fight stress and to keep healthy. At a more advanced level, they are a way of development of conscience. Tai-chi practice is characterized by slow and sequential movements, which encourage physical and psychical relaxing and the circulation of energy (chi). Tai-chi can be practised at any age, with clear benefits for health and general well-being.

The idea of this specific project is to confront others with visions to different sensitivities. The show is made up of Chinese pole and floor acrobatics, trampoline, object handling, dance and video. In Joao Pereira's word's "Circus is a metaphor of life and connections between people. Notions of risk and trust are inherent in the definition of circus."In this show he wants to confront the audience from a different approach, not just visually but emotionally. The idea is to let the audience experience the fear and loneliness of the performers ; to be carried away by the verticality of the Chinese pole, the height that is involved and the constant self-belief the performers must have to pull it off!The company "O Ultimo Momento" was created in 2004 by Joao Pereira Dos Santos (Portuguese acrobat) and Guillaume Dutrieux (French musician). In 2005 they created their first show in Strasbourg (France) called PEUT-ÊTRE. This show has been performed more that 50 times across Europe and South-East Asia. The last performance took place in 2009.In 2006 the company also created a show called CONTIGO ; this was a solo project co-written by Joao Pereira Dos Santos and the Portuguese choreographer Rui Horta. This show successively toured over 100 times in Europe, Asia, Africa, Northern and Southern America. In May 2009 the first performance of Vertigem took place in Portugal. This short form (solo) is the foreshadow of the newest performance which will be completed in January 2011

I thought that to experience that once, would be just fulfilling to conclude my 25 years long stage carrier.Strangely enough, instead of beating the edge, I opened a new door to a universe of self recognition and understanding.A creative process is indeed a transformation process..." ANACRONIA(Between departure and arrival)By collecting birthdays and becoming, what we generally call, a mature woman, an unusual perception of myself rose into my awareness: actually...

This exchange project consists in a joined co-production between these two arts centres of new works by young artists. "Apres le Bain" (working title) by Mariana Tengner Barros, it's the first project to be supported within this framework. After the realization of several artistic residencies in Portugal and Belgium, "Après Le Bain" première's will take place on the 25th and 26th of February 2011 at O Espaço do Tempo's Blackbox in Montemor-o-Novo (Portugal). About "Après Le Bain"There is something about our limited time here, that makes us want to pause it. Signs of ageing are regarded as flaws, plastic surgery becomes a must so one can adapt well to the most recent codes of representation of our bodies. In the quest for some kind of perfection, we go on morphing slightly, daily, comparing ourselves with the images we see all around, old and new. By attempting to construct the ideal image of a body we tend to get further and further away from the reality of that body, that is its details, its peculiarities, what makes it unique and complex. A will for immortality, for a ‘great shape', forever, takes over fully ‘living' each moment. ‘Looking like' and ‘looking at' become more important than ‘seeing' and ‘being'. As long as the ‘image' is what we want it to be, ‘forever' becomes the object where that image gets ‘frozen', the moment registered (a picture, a sculpture, a photo, a film).I am recurrently interested in the representation of the body in art, the body in the media, in publicity, its relevance in the cult of ‘fame' and in the phenomena of the ‘icon'. The way the body is presented, how it is destroyed, the degrees of intimacy and exposure and the mechanisms related with how we ‘cover' our bodies, how we define them. For this solo I wanted to work with a material that was unstable, which form had a short duration. In life nothing stays the same, everything reaches a point where it either ends or it becomes something else. ‘After the bath', after getting ‘clean', scrubbed, desinfected, we add other layers, in a narcissistic-like ritual, working against time.I began working from the idea of getting old in a fast-forward mode. Skin getting wobbly and loose, creams trying to hold it together, even reverting the process. The body undergoes constant and continuous changes, it is an infinite process of reconfigurations and adaptations. Nevertheless, we have that huge tendency to want to freeze them, in an anxious attempt to delay an end and keep a certain appeareance that suits a pre-determined model of beauty. The body of an image, or the image of a body? I try to enter in a place where these converge, where I manipulate my own image, articulating my state between the ‘created' and the ‘creator' (ie: the sculpture and the sculptor), wanting to transcend my countours, my identity, my gender and all the other cultural and social ‘tags' that are imposed.I work with 4 elements: my body, plastic sheets, light and cans of men's shaving foam.Remixing body, body of old, body of now, my body now, forms in my body, ends of my body, body of other, an attempt of body, an empty body, a body cover, ghost body, the body decaying, the body still. Body, still.Mariana Tengner Barros 2009Mariana Tengner Barros Graduated from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK 2003). Was an apprentice dancer with Ballet Theatre Munich (GER 2004). Associate Artist in residency at NSCD (2004/2005)- choreographed ‘Best Imitation of Myself' for VERVE05. Worked with Deborah Hay as part of the SPCP project for the adaptation of the solo AT ONCE (2009). As a creator: starts the on-going work ‘Piece of the Heart' (2008), a theme to explore indefinitely and always in different versions of a solo with a choirus; creates the solo ‘And So?… THE END' (2010) in residency at Eira33 and has another solo ‘Aprés le bain'-(working title) under construction to premiere in early 2011.Collaborated with various artists in different projects: Said Dakash , Elizabete Francisca, Maria Lemos, Abraham Hurtado, Joa Gridfonte, Pedro Bandeira, João Costa, Paulo Matosinhos and António Mv, amongst others. She is a co-founder of the artistic collective The Resistance Movement and an associate artist of O Espaço do Tempo (Montemor-o-novo, Portugal).

Could that mean staying put? To exist in the time that is measurable by instant-messaging and by the growth of a tree. Not to lose concentration in a situation that Miguel Benasayag has described as “when everything becomes possible, nothing is possible anymore”. Thus ... seeking for the equilibrium of a flying aeroplane: speed versus gravity. This moving body on stage has been inspired by sleep, by the physical action of sleeping, by the space and location of a sleeping person. A sleeping body has an existence that is out of control and out of context (disconnected from the actual surroundings). A body that is consumed by the necessity to recycle, rebuild and re-organize itself in order to function. Sleep is our ultimate home. Home that we can't leave, rent or sell. This body won't sleep, it will displace itself instead. It navigates throughout recycled, rebuilt and re-organized materials which chase each other and face the audience, each in its proper manner. These nowhere-arrivals are accompanied by the (mechanical) sounds of going from one place to another and by a voice that anchors itself in the past - speaking of marriages and funerals.Nele Suisalu LOOPING | EU Project In October 2008, LOOPING, a partnership Uzès Danse (France), TanzWerkstatt Berlin (Germany) and O Espaço do Tempo (Portugal) was granted by the European Commission within the framework of ithe Culture 2007-2013 Program.LOOPING is a two-year cooperation project whose aim is to support new creations by twelve emerging choreographers, from six different countries: France, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Romania and Turkey,. Through sound, words and images, we can glimpse an imagined narrative of our past. Yet the past is immoveable, unknowable, ever elusive and often challenging to confront. Imagine if the power to change or manipulate our personal histories existed.Through the performers dialogue with documented sound history and anonymous objects, an environment is constructed in which one is confronted with the merging of two worlds; past and present. Here the environment takes on a role of power. It gives the opportunity to consider one's history and reflect on the possibilties of how our imagination can twist the reality of our past. From this experience there is a window of opportunity opened up to another dimension...a world of illusion and fantasy. In collaboration with reknowned electronic music artist CLARK (Warp records UK), Melanie and CLARK continue their working partnership for the second time after the successful production 'HELD' in collaboration with Morgan Belenguer (2008), this time developing a sound installation that is composed in co-ordination with objects and choreography in space. The sound is comprised of audio documentations, an ecclectic range of events that transform and influence the environment. In the intimacy of a solo performance, 'Tilted Fawn' builds a universe that offers a dialogue between fantasy and reality through sound and movement. It brings to the surface images that are absurd, dark, light and other-worldly.Melanie Lane LOOPING | EU Project In October 2008, LOOPING, a partnership Uzès Danse (France), TanzWerkstatt Berlin (Germany) and O Espaço do Tempo (Portugal) was granted by the European Commission within the framework of ithe Culture 2007-2013 Program.LOOPING is a two-year cooperation project whose aim is to support new creations by twelve emerging choreographers, from six different countries: France, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Romania and Turkey,.
o espaço do tempo - event<br/> <font color=#666666>Marko Milic ( Serbia ) </font> <br/> <font color=#990000><b >17 september 2010 september </b ></font><font color=#666666>Blackbox | Montemor-o-Novo | 9.30pm<br/> </font><br/><img class='left' style='margin:10px 0 0 0;' border=0 style='margin-left:0px' src='http://www.oespacodotempo.pt/images/imagethumb.php?s=../images/web/eventos/series.jpg&w=250'><br/><br/>The main drive for this dance is inspired by the idea of possession. Marko Milic wants to propose very vivid dancing, almost like the dancer is connected to high voltage electricity and cannot stop, similar to trance parties. His interest is what can be the source or a motive, that push the movement to be fanatical. The starting point was spiritual séances where dance was used as a tool for presenting the communication with spirits and transmitting the message to followers.Marko Milic LOOPING | EU Project In October 2008, LOOPING, a partnership Uzès Danse (France), TanzWerkstatt Berlin (Germany) and O Espaço do Tempo (Portugal) was granted by the European Commission within the framework of ithe Culture 2007-2013 Program.LOOPING is a two-year cooperation project whose aim is to support new creations by twelve emerging choreographers, from six different countries: France, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Romania and Turkey,.

We will repeat this journey as long as the city is here - in order to be sure that the city is here. WELCOME."URBANIA is a site-specific performance organized as a guided tour.URBANIA is not a city. Maybe it is the way to move through the city. Or maybe just a particular way to look at it: a lens. A guide will take us. Later i did a drawing of it. Some months later that drawing was still on my mind. Than I though, why souldn't I do something with it and give life to this drawing? Time passed and nothing happen. Until the moment when it had to happen. The drawing should had a life and its own history. This is a performance about a drawing. PRÈMIERE: Galeria Zé dos Bois - Negócio (Lisbon) November 2010.
